Winter greetings from Villanueva del Rosario, Malaga province.
This beautiful picture with green olive fields and snowy mountains in the back I was able to take on a January morning, as I was driving to a cosy rustic country house with horse stables, ref. 00482. It was cold in the morning, but at lunch time one could sit outside and enjoy the warm sunshine. That is Andalucia.

News from Malaga and Costa del Sol:
The Museum Carmen Thyssen was inaugurated in Malaga on the 24th March, 2011. Carmen Cervera, Baroness Thyssen-Bornemisza, has lended Malaga 230 fantastic paintings until 2025. They can be viewed in the beautifully reconstructed Palacio de Villalón. One of the high-lights of this importand exhibition is "La Buenaventura" from Julio Romero de Torres (1922). The Baroness said that the museum is like Malaga, like Andalucia. Full of life, colour, variety, beauty and happiness. A happy museum for a happy city.
Palm trees instead of walls. The new park "El Palmeral de las Sorpresas" with more than 8.000 plants and trees opened on a plot of land of 33.000 m2. The company Heliopol created this green island. It connects Malaga, its harbour and the sea in a beautiful way. A new green lung for Malaga.
Spain is building a railway line for the fast AVE train from the French border via Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Malaga to Algeciras along the Mediterranean coast. The huge project should be finished in 2020. A big advantage for the tourism.
